LAST MINUTE GOALLLL VAI BRASIL PORRA!!! What an insane game. Would be straight dead ballin for minutes at a time and then in a moments notice turn so chaotic 🤣 Japan had the first half and then went sleepy in the second. Sorry to see Suzuki go, he’s been a phenomenal goalie to watch.

"They launch rockets in Houston and surely Brazil are shooting for the stars!" Just let Ian Darke solo cook in the booth man, Landon Donovan your permanently annoyed tone of voice is such a buzzkill. Feel awful for Suzuki he was sacrificing his body out there. Brazil were just ferocious in the 2nd half they certainly snapped out of it in that locker room maybe they ju-jitsu'd each other.

Damn. Absolute heartbreak for Japan. Back to back stoppage time game winners to start the knockout rounds. I had Japan as my sleeper team for this World Cup an such a tough way to go out. I do still think Brazil is overrated, and will lose to Haaland and Norway in the round of 16. As sad as its been to see the two teams I’ve been rooting for lose both of the games, they’ve been absolutely incredible games. I’m sorry Japan 💔

This was the game I was most excited for and it lived up to the hype… mostly. Japan and Brazil are 2 very entertaining sides of the same coin. I saw someone comment this was new-school dribbling against the originators and I think that is a perfect description. Japan was okay with losing the possession battle in exchange for keeping their attack efficient and it was working in the first half. Brazil had the majority of chances, but most of them were unthreatening to Zion Suzuki. Meanwhile Japan picked their spots and Sano intercepted a pass, beat a defender and perfectly finished the sequence with a goal.
Unfortunately, Japan struggled in the second half. Call it halftime adjustments or just Japan being outclassed as they ran out of energy, but Brazil was firmly in control and Casemiro scoring put all momentum in their favour. The Blue Samurai couldn’t generate another chance and we got another stoppage time goal to win it thanks to Premier League champion Gabriel Martinelli.

It will be sad to see Japan go from the World Cup after they score the first goal of the game, but it will not be enough to advance to the Knockout Round. Japan showed what it is really like to enjoy the game with how passionate they are, and being so nice and pleasant, I'll be missing those clean stadiums. Brazil looked shaky in the first half, though as they couldn't really cause any problems for the Japan Side. But a stunning header and great goal from the Brazil side pushed them through into the round of 16. Officially the 2nd team to go through into the next round.

Back-to-back stoppage time goals in the first two matches to start the Knockout round, insanity!!
Japan looked great the 1st half and were incredibly dangerous when counter attacking even while Brazil controlled possession. They looked faster and more aggressive to the ball, but that changed in the 2nd half and Brazil was relentless on the attack pretty much all 45 minutes of the 2nd. Endrick and Martinelli were great subs that changed the tempo of the game and Vini almost had himself the best goal of the tournament so far. Brazil nets two to send them through to the next round in very dramatic action. I think their road ahead is tough playing like this

Absolute heartbreaker, just a poor giveaway at the end. Brazil found an extra gear the last 30 minutes of the game and was able to escape. I have to add that Landon Donavan is just awful at commentary he just sounds so bored and it makes me feel like the game isn’t that important
