The Vikings complete their march and leave Ivory Coast shivering in anguish as they make it 3/4 when it comes to making it to the round of 16 at a World Cup. As a whole, this was probably the most even game of the knockouts so far. I know that may sound ironic for a game that didn’t go into extra time, but it really felt like this game was balancing on a tightrope. It wasn’t until Haaland very nearly missed a wide open chance that one team took full control and it wasn’t the team you’d think. After that goal to go up 2-1, Norway was in total command. Ivory Coast were panicking and/or rattled by the goal because they couldn’t figure out their attack down the stretch and Norway held on for the win. It sucks that we didn’t get a ton of super dramatic moments in those 10+ minutes after the goal, but luckily the rest of the game was good enough to make up for it. Haaland will deservingly get credit for this win, but I thought Nusa, Odegaard and Berg were the true X-factors, especially Berg.

Norway vs Cote d'Ivoire. Lets just call 'em Cote. First and Foremost Noway geniunlly has the best jerseys. The font and their white ones are clean and the one with the norway flag on it is just cool. Anyway First half was all Norway. The 21 year old Antonio Nusa starting the scoring off for Norway with a Beautiful Goal with a great curve on it. Our Guy Erling Haaland had just eight touches in the first but turned them into 3 attempts at the goal. In the second half Amad Diallo ("The Man U Man") comes of the bench for Cote to score a tight goal with Pepe assisting. Haaland makes it 2-1 Norway with a goal set up by Patrick Berg. In the 7 minutes of stoppage time Nothing really happened with just Norway defending their lead. Overall pretty close game.

Was at the doctor for this one and missed it, but certainly seems like we got another round of 32 banger. I expected Haaland to completely take over the game, scoring multiple goals and getting a large win over Ivory Coast. Credit to Ivory Coast, they contained Haaland well, but he finally got one in the 86th minute to send Norway through and keep himself in the race for the Golden Boot. Brazil will get exposed next week against Norway.

Really good game, Ivory Coast had a lot of chances but little end product. Norway always look so much better after their first goal in all of their World Cup games so far. All the credit to Norways keeper for saving their ass at the end. For me he’s the MOTM over odegaard and certainly over haaland.
