Good win by Switzerland in this one. Great effort by Algeria, they gave us an incredible game vs Austria, but this is it for them. Switzerland now faces Colombia or Ghana next round. That's insane that one of those teams will be in the quarterfinals. I do think it'll be Colombia, but there are 15 teams in this World Cup better than Colombia. Great situation for them, and for their group stage performance, well deserved after that impressive draw vs Portugal. Who knows, maybe they could surprise some people, but I expect them to get beat quite easily in the quarterfinals.

Switched right before the game started, Algeria played well tho, not mad at my pick at all. Congrats Switzerland, good luck next round!

Just a nice comfortable win for the swiss they just parked the bus during extra time and actually almost got a 3rd goal right at the final buzzer

As expected. Switzerland had a good showing, but I’m not sure they have enough to break into the quarter finals.

game 85/104. not much to this one. switzerland were just a level above algeria and constantly dictated how this game would go. algeria actually led in possession but really struggled creating anything. they did more in the first half but still didn't test switzerland all that much. on the other hand switzerland were much more clinical with their chances and were much better in algeria's box. i continue to love this switzerland front 4 and am thinking manzambi may be the breakout star of this tournament.

I watched the first half of this game then shut it off figuring Switzerland had it in the bag and sure enough they did. Pick Streak to 9 and Switzerland moves onto the next round looking really quite good.

Despite Algeria controlling possession Switzerland dominated this game. They scored less than 10 minutes into the first half and second again 45 seconds into the second half to rip Algeria’s heart out. The Algerians never had any true goal scoring opportunities the entire game. They made some good run but they never put a dangerous shot on net. Switzerland is much better than I thought. I say that every time after I watch them play. In order to win you have to score at least one time. So with this loss my picks have probably ended. I tried my very best. It would be nice to have that Norway Iraq game back when I accidentally picked Iraq. But I’m 5 picks back of ILivenumbers. It’s not looking to good. Again, I’d rather come in 20th knowing I tried to win than come third knowing I played it safe. I guess there’s still some time so I’ll keep fighting. Hey, Belgium did end up beat Senegal. Anything possible!

Comfortable win for the Swiss and now it’ll be a very interesting matchup against Colombia in the Round of 16. They’ve looked solid and have a really strong attack and Embolo playing as some of his best in international tenure. Their World Cup hopes will come crushing Vancouver against a Colombia team that has impressed so far in this tournament
