The game of the tournament, no doubt. If we get something better than this, I cannot wait. The entire world watched this game with 1 thought constantly ringing in their collective heads. “Could this actually happen?” Cabo Verde was determined to prove the answer is a loud YES.
At first, it looked like another Messi masterclass and thanks to a well-placed pass, it only took a perfect touch and finish for Messi to become the first player ever to score 20 World Cup goals. Yet, Argentina got complacent. A foolish move if you ask me considering what Cabo Verde did to Spain. Cabo Verde made them pay with a goal in the 2nd half. They weren’t just tied with Argentina on the scoreboard, they were keeping up on the pitch. When Argentina scored at the start of extra time, nobody would’ve blamed Verde for rolling over. Instead, Cabral gave us the goal of the tournament with a screamer, forcing Christian Romero to restore order and Argentina to hold on for dear life to win it. Absolutely incredible

Take a bow Cape Verde take a bow. What we witnessed tonight was nothing short of incredible, magical, and spectacular. One of the greatest game in World Cup history. Cape Verde with a beautiful effort. Argentina took the early lead off of a Messi goal then complete hell broke loose. A penalty goal that tied it up. Then we went into extra time. The white and blue took the lead. Then we one of the greatest goals you’ll ever see. That’s too beens lady’s and gentlemen. You simply can’t put it anywhere better. Unfortunately we saw our Cape Verde lose off of an “own goal” but it’s ok. This game was absolutely spectacular! You know why it’s not a 10. Remember where you were when this happened because we will be talking about it for a while. Bravo Verde, Bravo lads! You showed the WORLD what yall are made of. We could ask for nothing more. 👏 👏👏👏👏

Cabo Verde had Argentina scared throughout and put up an amazing performance. They also scored the goal of the tournament in extra time. Argentina had to really work and fight for this. I never would have thought this team would push the defending world champions to their limit and almost to pens. Probably one of the best games of the tournament. Vozinha was great all game as well as Argentina easily could have scored more. More of a victory for Cabo Verde than Argentina tbh.

I will be ecstatic if another game this tournament is as good as this. Just a brilliant and exhilarating game of football. Cape Verde the small nation off the west coast of Africa playing football powerhouse Argentina. Messi extends his scoring streak at 8 to start this gane out. Then Deroy Duarte responded in the 59th and we had a game to be had. Lots of chances for Argentina to win but Vozinha was absolutely incredible in net and stopped Messi twice with Messi in front of the face of the goal. To start extra time Lisandro Martinez had smashed one past Vozinha. But Mr. Sidny Lopes Cabral had probably the goal of the tournament (we'll see). Left side of the 18 yard box and he somehow curved it top right bins that no goalie is saving. Argentina got a corner and Romero headed it and it deflected off of Diney. I still think that shouldve been Romeros goal. Emi Martinez made some great saves at the end to seal the win. But folks incredible game! Cape Verde thank you for what you did.
