Spain dominated possession and offensive attack. Argentina didn’t realize they should try to score until they reached the 120th minute. Argentina’s goalkeeper kept them in it but Spain was able to keep pressing and scored, even after a goal was taken away on a ticky tac foul.

What an incredible game and an unfortunate way for Messi to end his World Cup career. Argentina’s offense just didn’t have it in the clutch situations like they did previously. 0 shots on goal and their offense really wasn’t scary at any point of this game. Ferran Torres came up huge for the only goal and almost had a second for the winner if his shoulder wasn’t offside. Another 1-0 overtime World Cup final win for Spain, PTSD for the Dutch.
Lionel Messi is the GOAT and it was amazing to see him in another World Cup final, even if this one was a loss. There us no argument for anyone other than Messi to be the GOAT. I thought he had one more signature moment, unfortunately that moment didn’t come.

MARTINEZ!!! bro did everything humanly possible to win this game and Argentina still couldn't get a fucking shot although the end of that game completely made up for the boring first 2 halfs what a game!! Spain wins the world cup and Messi (probably) rides off on a pink fluffy unicorn into the sunset

Very disappointing performance from Argentina, only Dibu came out to play and they were lucky to even have a chance and go to extra time. Spain was everywhere, and they saved their best games for last, dominating both the champions and the vice champions of the last World Cup. This is a special generation, hope they keep dominating.

Over 100 minutes without a goal and Argentina had 0 shots on goal. My fears were realized as Spain played their style and snuffed out any chances for Messi. When you compare this one 2022 it’s tough to give it anything but a yellow. Very forgettable.
