Another tough outing for Crochet, allowing 3 in 4 2/3 innings. Not too worried yet though, I think he'll pitch just as well if not better this season compared to last. Just give him a couple more starts to settle in. This is why Spring Training exists. Good to see Nick Sogard going yard, he likely won't be a big part of this team going forward but I'm hoping he develops alright and can be used as trade bait.

Justin Gonzalez has been very promising this spring training, with another RBI today, and a great outing from Johan Oviedo and Aroldis Chapman. Good showing from the Sox today.

Not a great performance from Crochet, what worries me the most was his inability to throw strikes. 47% zone percentage is horrible. I'm sure he'll figure it out come regular season, but not a good game from him.
On the other hand, 3 IP, 1 H, 0 ER, 7 K out of Payton Tolle. A big game for one of our top prospects is very promising. After that little speech in the locker room the other day, it looks like he is becoming a loved member of the team.
Hitting of course was not great, putting up 0 runs, but then again most of the Sox' hitters are away with their respective countries.
Overall, not a great game, but Tolle's performance saved it from being a complete disaster.

BRAIDEN WARD BECOMES THE SPRING TRAINING STOLEN BASE RECORD HOLDER. Got his 17th steal of this Spring Training, he's certainly an exciting acquisition from Colorado. Fuck it, Jacoby Ellsbury is back i guess.
Also saw an RBI out of Caleb Durbin in a 2-4 game. He's looking like Dustin Pedroia out there. Shit, we might just have the 2013 Red Sox all over again.
Connelly Early pitched alright, allowing 5 hits and 1 run during his 3 2/3 innings. Overall, a solid performance for Boston that I'm happy about.

Solid game by the Sox. Narvi goes yard, I'm hoping for a big leap from him this season after a great rookie year.
Oviedo looked okay, allowing 2 in 3 2/3 innings. He could be a solid 5/6 starter this season.
Zack Kelly allowing 3 runs in 1 2/3, it appears someone is already in midseason form.

On the other hand, Brayan Bello went 5 innings, allowing 4 hits and 0 runs and striking out 7. Rest of the team was pitiful though.

I'm not upset with this game. Sure, the offense was quiet, but Roman Anthony went 1 for 1 with a walk in his first game back with the team and Ceddanne Rafaela went 2 for 3. If Rafaela is going to blossom into the star that the Sox think he is, he'll do it this year. He's not going to be a big power hitter, but he's got the potential to be a consistent .300 hitter and an every year Gold Glove contender. On the pitching, Jovani Moran was the only major leaguer on the bump, and he pitched 1 scoreless inning.

Another poor offensive showing by the Sox today. Really nothing positive to take away from this game on the hitting aspect. Roman Anthony went 0 for 3, Jarren Duran went 1 for 3, Willson Contreras went 0 for 2, and Wilyer Abreu went 0 for 3. And on the pitching end, it looks even worse. I've got no idea what's up with Crochet in this Spring Training but he has been struggling. 5 innings today and he allowed all 6 of the Braves runs. I don't know what's going on with him but he's gotta figure it out by the time the regular season rolls around

On the hitting end, this was great.
Roman Anthony: 2-for-4
Trevor Story: 3-for-4
Jarren Duran: 1-for-2, 2 walks
Wilyer Abreu: Home run
Caleb Durbin: 1-for-3, 2 RBIs
Ceddanne Rafaela: 3-for-4
Connor Wong: 2-for-4, 2 RBIs
Yep, Connor Wong 2 hits. Not often you see that. But nonetheless, this was a great game at the plate and it seems like Cora has pretty much decided on the Opening Day lineup. Tough game for Oviedo, allowing 6 in only 3 and a third. And Aroldis Chapman alloing 2 runs in a game for the first time since 2024. Great hitting, terrible pitching about sums up this Sox game.

Just an eh game for the Sox. Ranger Suarez looked horrendous. 8 runs in only 4 and a third is bad. Good to see a 2/3 day out of Marcelo Mayer, especially getting a double off a lefty. Thats the big concern with him and its good to see he was able to get a knock there. Anthony and Story also played well, but overall just not a good performance for the Sox.
On the bright side, spring training is over. the next Boston Red Sox game will be in Cincinnatti and man am I excited. Haven't watched a meaningful Sox game since it ended in heartbreak last October. I've got such high hopes for this team, I really hope they don't let me down.

THE RED SOX WIN LETS GOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!! 1-0 ON THE SEASON! My GOAT Marcelo Mayer goes 2/2 including a double pinch hitting and then scores both of our first 2 runs! Ceddanne Rafaela knocked in the first one and then Trevor Story knocked in the next. Then Jarren Duran with a beautiful left on left hit to drive in Anthony, all made happen by Anthony’s ABS challenge. 21 years old and already has that plate discipline. Wow. Incredible game from him, I hope they start playing him against lefties soon though. Roman Anthony 3 for 4 with a walk and hit a ball so hard it hurt someone on their glove hand. Garrett Crochet an absolute DAWG! 6 innings, 0 runs, 8 K’s and got out of a bases loaded jam!!! Justin Slaten shuts em down in the seventh and Whitlock gets a HUGE strikeout on Eugenio Suarez to end the 8th. And of course, the best closer in the league, Aroldis Chapman shuts em DOWN in the 9th. YOURRRRR BOSTON RED SOX ARE UNDEFEATED IN 2026!

Damn. That’s a tough loss. Sonny Gray really struggled early in his Red Sox debut, but we recovered. The GOAT Wilyer Abreu looking like his WBC form going yard to tie the game in the ninth and Aroldis Chapman, no warm up, raw dogged that shit for a shutout inning. The hitters really just couldn’t do anything in extra innings. Garrett Whitlock with a great inning and a tough one for Justin Slaten. The fact that you get a runner on 2nd to start extras, had 2 chances and couldn’t push a single run across is embarrassing. Tough loss, back at it tomorrow with Connelly Early with a chance to win the series.

Damn. Tough loss. Connelly Early pitched great, but immediately after Cora took him out, Greg Weissert allows a homer to Eugenio Suarez. Wilyer Abreu continues to be the absolute stud he is, going yard to give the Sox a 2-0 lead. The fact that Roman Anthony is 21 years old and the Reds are scared to pitch to him in a clutch situation says a ton. Anyways, losing the first series of the year always sucks especially losing 2 straight after winning Opening Day. Ranger Suarez makes his Red Sox debut in Houston tomorrow, not only do we need a good start from him to get back on track-but the offense needs to show up. Its been the offense’s fault we lost the last 2 games and they need to figure it out.

Wow this Red Sox offense is embarrassing. Wilyer Abreu with an RBI, and yet again he’s the only player that can do anything. Suarez and Oviedo both looked very mediocre in their Red Sox debut, allowing 4 runs each. Roman Anthony with another tough game of 0-4. Absolutely zero production from the offense aside from Abreu. This team has to figure their shit out. I know it’s early, but this offense is really scaring me. They got way worse this offseason, losing Alex Bregman. Craig Breslow is genuinely the most incompetent human in all of sports. Starts off by signing Bregman without informing Devers he will have to move positions- then trying to force the best HITTER on the team to move FIELDING positions, pissing him off. Breslow and Henry then get butthurt and decide to trade him for a pile of literal dogshit. And then they can’t even give Bregman a competitive offer in the offseason and he leaves. Genuinely fucking horrendous. How the fuck do you as an MLB GM let that fucking happen???

This offense just continues to be horrendous. 3 runs against the Houston Asstros 4 and 5 starting pitchers. Yikes. Ceddanne Rafaela is really just not a good hitter, comes in today and statpads late with a home run in the ninth. He’s the reason why the Red Sox need a designated fielder position. Anyways, Bello actually pitched solid considering his circumstances. In one at bat, he should’ve had a strikeout but somehow every single person in the stadium lost track of the count and he ended up walking the batter. Like genuinely, how the fuck does that happen in a MAJOR LEAGUE BASEBALL GAME????? One of his runs, Anthony should’ve thrown the runner out. Alex Cora left him in too long; and he started to unravel late. This offense needs to figure something out because they are genuinely looking like the single most embarrassing team in Major League Baseball so far. 1-4 is absolutely fucking horrendous. Learn how to fucking hit.

This team just continues to be the most infuriating in the MLB. Again, the hitting is embarrassing. Sure, Abreu and Anthony hit a couple homers late to make it look close, but the offense yet again did nothing. Tough outing for Garrett Crochet and we fall to 1-5. I just don’t know what this team needs to turn it around but they need to figure out something, because it is BAD right now. Home opener on Friday against San Diego, they desperately at least need to pick up 1 game in that series, but really they should be taking 2 against a Padres team thats one of the worst looking in recent memory. I mean, imagine this offense had a guy like Rafael Devers, or even Alex Bregman. I mean there’s no way the moneyball Red Sox could have a guy like that. Or at least the way Craig Breslow runs the team you’d think they were in Moneyball. Maybe spend some fucking money and we’ll be good for once.

Sigh. I just have no words anymore man. Like its just bad. Late April Fools joke yesterday by actually playing a bit of offense and scoring 5 but its back to the same old today. 8 games into the season and I'm already ready for it to be over. Too tired to crash out, but seriously, like I've said before, the front office and ownership is an absolute joke. I've basically already given up hope for this season. I mean even this game, neither of our RBIs came from hits. Johan Oviedo rolled out of bed today needing to get Tommy John. Like what the fuck. At least the pitching was okay until Chapman blew it. Ryan Watson looks like a promising guy in the bullpen? I don't even know at this point. Just be better.

2 wins and 7 fucking losses. Such a fucking embarrassment to their fanbase. They decide to call up Tyler Uberstine instead of Payton Tolle, and what the hell is Greg Weissert even doing. Ryan Watson has been the Sox only good reliever this year. Duran with a nice 2 RBI knock. Caleb Dustbin goes 0 for 3 again who’s fucking shocked! Masa Yoshida’s good at least someone can get a hit in a clutch situation, unlike Willson Contreras who continues to suck, ending this game by striking out with Wilyer Abreu on deck. Really no positives to take from this game aside from Yoshida and Duran. Just bad.

THE RED SOX WINNNNNN!!!! The bats finally showed out today back home at Fenway. The GOAT Marcelo Mayer with a home run and Caleb Durbin finally does something. I really hope this is a sign of things to come because I have high hopes for Durbin. Willson Contreras also hits a home run, it was the guys who have been struggling who stepped up today. Onto the pitching side, it was a great performance out of Sonny Gray and Aroldis Chapman. Hopefully they can continue this because its been a bad start to the season.

If I had a nickel for every game in the last 24 hours that Caleb Durbin recorded 0 hits and 1 RBI, I’d have 2 nickels. That’s not a lot, but its weird that it happened twice.
Anyways, Sox get their first series win of the year and its a big one against a great Brewers team. Sonny Gray pitched 6 and a third shutout today and the bullpen locked it down for the second shutout of the year.
Trevor Story with 2 RBIs as he’s starting to heat up, same with WC-40, everyone has seemed much more comfortable this series. And of course Wilyer Abreu keeps raking. Great series win for the Red Sox. I love it.

Great win today to split the series with Detroit. Always good to win that Patriots Day game. Sonny Gray pitched well until leaving with an “apparent injury”, I hope he’s okay. Ceddanne Rafaela has been abysmal at the plate this year but hit well today with a couple RBIs. No idea why the hell Ice Cream Kinda-Falafel is on the team but he got 2 RBIs as well. The entire team was hitting well today, something we havent seen all year. Hopefully this is a sign of things to come.
On the pitching end, Ryan Watson started this season so well but has struggled lately. No reason Chapman should’ve had to come in a game we led 8-3 going into the 9th, but aside from Moran and Watson, the pitching was very solid.

I hate baseball. Fuck the yankees. Our offense sucks. Can’t hit at all. I’m so glad the bruins are playing tonight so I didn’t have to subject myself to the torture of watching this game. Anthonys been playing well lately but 0 for 3 today. Contreras 1 for 4. Abreu 0 for 4. And from everybody else the same old inability to hit that they’ve had all year. Not even fun to watch the sox anymore.

Yikes. This was bad. It started with a horribly constructed lineup. Alex Cora genuinely put together the worst combination of Red Sox hitters possible for this one. It’s time for Cora to go. He was a good manager for a while, brought us a World Series, but the last couple of years he’s just been bad. Whether its lineup construction or deciding when to go to the bullpen and who to bring in, he just can’t seem to make a correct decision. Haven’t even watched this series, I’ve accepted the fact that we are getting swept, not even wasting my time with it. Ranger Suarez back to being the most mid pitcher in the league after that gem vs the Tigers. At least Duran had 3 hits today, but we’ll never see him in that 2024 form again. This one just sucked. The Red Sox just suck. Sweep incoming tomorrow.

And now the Red Sox give me hope again. Garrett Crochet’s been struggling all year but today goes 6 shutout innings striking out 7 and only allowing 3 hits. The entire offense was on fire especially in the 9th, where we put up 10 runs. Contreras, Monasterio, and Durbin all go yard and even Connor Wong and Ice cream kinda falafel had success at the plate. Of course Durbin’s first home run on the Sox came off a third baseman, but Monasterio had a legitimate grand slam. Great win today. Two straight tomorrow? Please?

Oh yeah! The boys started off the Chad Tracy era right, and a lot of that is because of Tracy. Duran leading off. Abreu cleanup. Durbin near the bottom. He knows how to make a lineup. I love it. Mayer has been heating up lately and Contreras has been absolutely raking! Connelly Early with a gem in this one. This team looked so good today, 2 straight wins and we take the series against Baltimore. First impressions of Chad Tracy: We have our manager of the future.

Great win out there. Everything about this was amazing. First 3 game win streak of the season. Marcelo Mayer 4 straight games with an RBI. Ranger Suarez looking like our ace out there, 8 innings, only allowed 1 hit and struck out 10. Roman Anthony got an RBI. Abreu and Contreras stay hot. Carlos Narvaez heating up with a homer today. 2-0 in the Chad Tracy era and this team is only looking upwards.

Another bad game today. I don’t know what’s been wrong with Brayan Bello this year but he has to turn it around soon. The Willson Contreras trade is looking like the best move of the offseason so far he goes yard again today. Aside from him, the rest of the hitters did nothing and the pitching sucked again. Tough to celebrate this one, so upset about the Bruins right now. But Jake Bennett looked amazing in his debut, only 1 run allowed in 5 innings. A 3 run homer for Jarren Duran, need a redemption year from him. Good win for the Sox, but can't get too happy about it, my mood has been completely dragged down by the Bruins.

Well that sucked. Duran got a homer early, then everything downhill. Suarez hurt, he’s been our best pitcher we badly need him to be okay. And then of course Greg Weissert blows the lead because he always does. Then Zack Kelly is gifted a double play and still allows 2 runs before Ceddanne grounds into a double play to end it. Just bad. Red Sox suck. DFA kelly and Weissert already no reason for them to still be on the team.

We dodged a bullet not facing Skubal today but with that being said I hope he recovers well and is back to Cy Young form after his surgery.

2 in a row! Bello looks like he’s finally figured it out. 7 innings only allowed 1 run. Having the opener in this one allowing him to settle in seemed very helpful, came into the game already up 3-2. Ceddy had 3 hits including a home run and drove in 4 runs, Wilyer hit a homer, Contreras hit a homer, Durbin had an RBI, Monasterio had an RBI, Wong had an RBI, IKF had an RBI, Story scored twice. Everyone was looking great today at the plate for the second game in a row. I really hope this is the turning point of the season.

Tough loss. Kyle from Waltham going yard on us hurts, I’ll always love him though. Went to a Sox game in 2021 when he hit a leadoff home run and I have it on video. Brayan Bello has been amazing his last 2 “starts”, he has looked much better coming in after Jovani Moran opens the game for an inning. I hope this isn’t what needs to be done permanently, but if its what will help Bello succeed right now I’m all for it.
