What a nail biter that turned out to be. Game started out 6-0 Twins after the first inning. Twins bats were ready to go from the get go as they jumped Framber right away. 6 runs and 4 hits in the first.
Ober pitched effectively and induced weak contact for a majority of his outing until he ran into trouble in the 6th. That’s when the bullpen took over and things got shaky.
Tigers immediately made it a 7-2 game. Twins added another on an inning later. And then after 7 innings it was 8-6.
Both 8th and 9th innings were congested with base runners from the Tigers as the Twins bullpen had no feel for the zone whatsoever. Lawyerson and Funderburk were wild and damn near blew the game.
Buck stays hot as he goes 3/4 with a walk. A total threat on the base paths as well. Royce grabs a hit and a couple walks as well. We also saw some base running out of Royce as he stole a bat and tried again late in the game.
Twins pick up a series win and improve to .500 on the year. Sweep time 🧹 🧹

A day late to rating - Offense might be clicking. It will be put to the test Tuesday versus Skubal so we shall see. Great to see Keaschall finally get rewarded for hard swings and batted balls. Also Royce is showing improved signs of better at bats and patience at the plate. He is also everyone’s biggest cheerleader even when he’s struggling. It makes him so easy to root for when he shows genuine happiness and excitement for the game and his teammates.

Move over Skubal, there’s a new ace in the AL central. Taj Bradley have yourself a night, what a start to the 2026 season for him. Another solid 6.1 innings and 10 strikeouts tonight. 6 came on the splitter too which ties a career high. He had a long leash too and partly due to him not having many high stress pitches for the first 5 innings. He commanded the zone and executed well. If he can keep pitching close to this level all of a sudden it sparks a little hope for the season. Buxton continued to hit the ball hard too. Just finding the glove right now but it’s a good sign he’s getting deep into counts and then making hard contact. Ryan Jeffers is an underrated part of the game as he obviously drove in 2 runs on a double, but his challenges he used were pivotal and on point. He might be the best in the MLB at doing it and it shows. A very underrated part of his game.

Twins win baby. Bullpen actually looked competent this game and Taj Bradley, man if he can fine tune his command a little more we might have something. His splitter was nasty today and he shut down the O’s lineup for 4 solid innings. Pitch count was high due to a few walks and just being a little wild with command. Buxton showed how he can manufacture runs all on his own in ths 4th. Infield single he beat out barely after a challenge. Took 2nd base on a tag up fly ball. Took 3rd base after a back pick error from the catcher. And then tagged on a shallow fly ball to left that maybe 1% of the league even attempts to run on.

After a delayed start due to a power outage in the North Loop neighborhood. The game got underway and the Rays got out to an early lead. But by the middle innings it was all tied up. Until the 7th when the Twins tacked on 3 runs to make it 6-3. Then Tristan Gray stepped up with the bases loaded and delivered a homerun he will never forget. Blew the doors off the game by extending the lead to 10-4 and the Twins never looked back. Gray finished with 5 RBIs in a career day.

Can’t beleive the Twins didn’t get swept. Taj Bradley has been one of the few good things so far in the young season. If he can keep this up he’ll be a staple this season and future ones too. Lineup still just doesn’t feel or look right. Besides the 9th when Wallner, Clemens, and Bell all went deep. It got dicey in the bottom of the 9th as the Royals had some traffic on after a bobble by Royce Lewis and a walk. But in the end the Twins save the sweep and leave KC with a win bringing them to 2-4 on the year. Optimistically a 2-4 road trip while it’s not good. Isn’t the absolute worst. Baltimore and Kansas City are both good teams as well. Not the best, but not the worst. Get back home for the opener and take 2/3 from the Rays and maybe 2/3 from the Tigers and get back to .500.

Back and forth game with a lot of big moments, big calls, and big overturns via ABS.
The Twins might be the least clutch team in all of baseball. The numbers with RISP improved from Thursday, but holy cow we cannot leave near 20 guys on base. Multiple bases loaded opportunities with 0 outs, 1 out, and 2 outs and nothing to show for, for the most part.
Loved seeing Royce with another homer today. His excitement when he plays is unlike any other. He’s got more work to do to get back to where he was in 2023, but you’ve got to love the start he’s gotten off to compared to the last couple seasons.
Twins drop the rubber match and move to 1-2 on the season. Honestly besides the clutch hitting aspect, the series went better than I thought it would and has me ALMOST believing this team could flirt with a WC berth and a .500 record.

Twins fan - This game sucked. If you just looked at the score you’d think, “Oh a high scoring game, I’m sure it was fun to watch.” Nope. Bad play all around from the Twins. Was 12-1 after the 6th and then we saw Derek Shelton pull Royce and Buxton with bases loaded opportunities to prevent any injuries, only for the Twins to make a little comeback late and make it at least close. The offense was abysmal for the first 6 innings. Genuinely hard to watch and multiple times I wanted to throw my computer. Joe Ryan got beat around today too and I’m sure the weather did have some affect on his stuff and the grip, but so did their pitcher who we should have been able to knock around. Buxton is supposed to be a lefty killer, but he hasn’t been able to do anything versus lefties so far in 2026. He swings at junk pitches in the dirt and doesn’t look comfortable in the box. Twins drop to 1-4 now and the little amount of hope there was for 2026 is flying out the window.

First off. Screw MLB for regional blackouts. How can someone pay for the full MLB package but then just not watch their team because they’re playing a road game in their market area. Talk all about growing the game well maybe make it accessible for everyone. No other sport has it this bad for just being able to view a game.
Okay, now the actual game. Twins can’t hit anything right now and it shows. SWR actually pitched better than I thought he would only allowing 2 runs on 5 hits. The 2 runs came on a homerun so he really only made a few mistakes. Overall 60/100 on the impressed scale with him. Bubic looked great for the Royals but maybe it was the team at the plate couldn’t hit a beach ball with a paddle. Who knows!
Twins fall to 1-3 now. Would love to see them take the next two games after the off day tomorrow and be .500 heading into the home opener. The attendance will already be bad but if this team is 10-20 going into May it’s going to be ugly at Target Field all summer long.

Twins fan - Going to be a long here. This is how most games will go for this team. Great start ruined by a disabled bullpen after the 2025 deadline. 1/12 with RISP was an issue last year and I see it continued over into this year. It’s opening day and I have low expectations due to ownership issues over the last 2 years. So take everything with a grain of salt.
Trevor Rogers again looks great. Whatever he found after the spot start last year clicked and works. This O’s team should be fun to watch as the year goes on.

Those first two innings by the Twins were something special. I cannot remember the last time I’ve witnessed the Twins, let alone any team do something like that offensively to an arm of that caliber in Garret Crochet. Truly unbelievable and a game that no matter how the season goes I’ll look back on and reminisce.
Kudos to Buck on becoming Target Field’s homerun leader. Can’t wait for his number to be retired in 10 or so years. Jeffers stays scorching hot with the bat and Ober looked above average on the mound today. I’ll take that from him every 5 days.
On the flip side, I don’t have much on the Red Sox because I just don’t really care, but god dang it I needed Contreras homerun as the last leg of a 4-leg homerun parlay with odds of +28211 and they pulled him before his 4th at bat. Oh well it’s a lottery ticket parlay.

Another great pitching performance for the Twins. This time from Mick Abel who goes 6 strong innings. I love Shelton giving him a leash and letting him finish the 6th. Gives confidence to your guys you trust them to do their job.
Offense was sluggish at times but Brooks Lee got the job done in the end. Loved that moment for him as he has struggled to start the year. Royce had some solid contact today and ended up with an infield single on his worst contact of the day. Also had a Royce scare where you thought he’d be out for months on a non-contact injury after a swing. But he stayed in and then showed he is “probably” fine after running out that previously mentioned infield single.
Bullpen was better today. Not many available arms so Shelton had to get fancy. Acton came in and I was impressed. Attacked hitters well and executed for two innings. Then Orze comes in and seals the deal in the 9th.
Twins improve to 7-6 and will look to improve on their Canadian trip.

That’s huge if he can have his B- stuff and still give the team a big start. That’s difference maker level stuff from a young guy who obviously has the talent just hasn’t been able to put it together consistently in his young career.
Twins bats again were alive in the earlier innings getting it done. Andrew Morris was amazing to see pitch some good innings in relief. He looked extremely composed out there on the mound and should be a good piece to the bullpen for now. 6 pitch arsenal is always great to see.

Unbiased this was a good game. But as a Twins fan this game pissed me off. What are we doing. Blowing games left and right this is how I thought this team would play. And then we can’t even get a run in the bottom of the 9th or 10th with a runner on 2nd and nobody out. Bunt the damn ball and do a job. I don’t care who you are. Buxton would be the only exception to that. Everyone else is bunting him over. STUPID managerial decisions cost us the game. Isn’t the first time. And won’t be the last.

Another great game by the Twins. Mick Abel with the best start of his young career so far. 7 shutout innings and 10 strikeouts. Wow if he can be anything like this the Twins have a demon pitcher and that trade last summer with Duran going to Philly makes Tait straight up house money.
Boston looks pitiful. Maybe it’s good pitching but bias aside they are prolly just all slumping at the same time. Nonetheless the Twins pitchers are still executing well and doing their job and doing it well.
Byron Buxton welcome back. We all know you’d get it going and now with a 2 homerun night after your first last game. 4/5 on the night and hitting every ball hard. A great sign after multiple games of stringing walks and long at bats together.

Waste of an afternoon watching this one. Get Culpepper across town and playing short for this team. He’s proved himself for a month straight now at AAA. Tristan Gray is not the answer and never was. He was a 2 week fill in guy until Culpepper was ready and now it’s been 6 weeks of him. DFA Gray and Outman and call up Culpepper and Royce Lewis again.
Infield from left to right would be Brooks Lee, Culpepper, Royce, Clemens. Outfield then is Martin, Buxton, Larnach. Which leaves Caritini/Jeffers when healthy catching and Jeffers/Bell at DH. That’s got potential for a solid lineup. On top of a healthy rotation of Ryan, Abel, Prileip, Bradley, Ober, and Zebby. Add two bullpen arms at the deadline for cheap and you’ve got a chance to make the postseason. It’s wide open and the moves are obvious.

After a lengthy rain delay. The Twins were finally able to put the finishing touches on this W. Josh Bell I think was a couple 0/4 days away from being DFA’d, safe to say he bought himself another couple weeks at least tonight. 3/4 with 2 homeruns and 4 RBIs. Solo shot in his first at bat followed by a 2 run homerun in his next at bat. Luke Keaschall was responsible for the other 2 RBIs via a bases loaded 2-run single later in the game. Astros got Pena back but just as the Astros 2026 season has gone, that means someone found themselves put onto the IL. This time it was Jose Altuve. Just unfortunate luck for the Astros who can’t see to stay healthy.
As for the Twins. The record may not be great, but the AL is so weak this season they find themselves only 0.5 GB of a playoff spot via the 3rd wildcard. Insane to think that this Twins team is still right in it with how bad they’ve played. Give this team 3-4 average bullpen arms by trade or AAA pitchers in your system and you got a team.

Zebulon Matthews welcome back to the Twins. 7 strong innings allowing not a single run or even threat really and striking out 5 batters. Everything looked good today for him and even with Shelton pulling him after 7 with the pitch count being relatively low, I like the move as you let him leave the game on a high note and gives him something to push for next time he’s on the mound. 1 bad inning can ruin a lot of confidence. Offense showed up even without Buxton today. A lot of it was aided by Braxton Garrett not being able to throw a strike for the first 13 batters. He walks FIVE guys in 1.1 innings. 64 pitches and only 30 strikes is a recipe for an instant demotion. Twins get the home series W and now get the “rivalry” Brew Crew coming to town.

WOW. The Twins don’t win many one run games versus Cleveland. Let alone when you have 2 hits the whole game and 1 hit game in the first at bat. Thank god for Byron Buxton. He’s a special player and a HOF player when healthy. If injuries were turned off, he’s a HOF player. It’s been awesome to see him play like the superstar he is the last couple years. Brooks Lee and his defense saved the game for the Twins. Two huge and stellar plays in extras. First was a diving catch that I don’t know how he got to. The second was the final out and a nice sliding stop and strong throw with a saving scoop from Clemens on the receiving end at first. Great win here. Gotta get the series W tomorrow now.

Solid win. Taj battled on the mound after having close to 50 pitches after two innings. He was able to end up going 6 innings and only giving up 2 runs. That’s huge for the bullpen in the first game of a series. Buxton goes deep late for a 3 run shot. Also was his first hit with RISP which was very surprising. 0 for 20 before the homerun. Brooks Lee continued to get on base. Larnach had a nice double and beautiful but scary catch in left field. He’s sneaky been a good defender this season so far. First time in awhile we’ve won two in a row. Have to go back to the Red Sox series in mid April.

This bullpen and defense almost blew it again. Glad we won and tied the series, but good god it’s a nightmare on repeat every single game.
Ryan left after two batters as well so that’s terrible news. He was probably getting traded sometime this summer, his value got tanked now.
Twins are at the absolute bottom right now.

Well that happened. No position player pitching in this one even though I thought it was coming in the 8th. Couple things: Who TF is Drew Millas 😭 and CJ Abrams hit a grand slam to payout the DraftKings Grand Slam payout. Wish I had bet CJ Abrams homerun today.
Flush it and hope to get a series W tomorrow.

The Pohlads, the bullpen they “built” for 2026, and the defense today are a complete joke.
Time to bet some horses I don’t know a thing about.

Buxton goes 2/4 with a walk. Another homerun but at least someone was on base this time for it. Toronto’s own Japanese player hits two homeruns in this one. Almost had a third one as well that came up just short in left center field. The former Twin Varland gets it done in the 9th. Man would it be nice to have him closing games for us.
Doesn’t pertain to this game, but E-Rod got hurt in the AAA game and left with a thumb injury after sliding into first base. So that’s great. Stuck with Wallner and Outman for another 30 games.

Good win by the Twins. Ober again looked good. He’s not overpowering but he is just weird enough and tall enough to be effective. Buxton goes deep along with going 3/4 on the night. He’s been unreal as of late. Blue Jays defense imploded in the 8th and the Twins piled onto their lead to seal it.
Onto the next. Gausman was always going to be a win. The Twins have owned him throughout his whole career.

I hate this bullpen. We knew this would be the problem and yet we haven’t tried anything to fix it. Some of these arms at AAA need to be converted to RPs. Rojas, Festa (when healthy), and Dasan Hill to name a few. Until then this same game script will happen over and over.
Twins starting pitcher Taj Bradley dominates and looks like a freaking ace. Incredible stuff and limiting damage for a majority of his outing. Twins are tied or leading on some clutch late hitting in the 8th to take the lead. Then the bullpen blows it in the 9th.
Mariners bring on their all star closer to shut down the Twins easily.
Twins lose the series at home. Blue Jays are coming to town and you need to take 3/4 from them. Playing bad at home is for sure not going to help fan support

Buxton continues to rake. Joe Ryan pitched well and gave the Twins a chance and the bullpen came in and let it go right away. Brutal defense by Austin Martin in right field as well. Missed a tough catch but then let it snowball by missing an easy line drive that allowed Randy Arozarena to get a “triple”. Should have been an error in my opinion, it hit his glove and was a ball that should be caught by a major leaguer 9/10 times.
Twins need to get the rubber match here on Wednesday and get a series win at home. Win games at home and call up some prospects to bring any excitement possible is the goal of the season. Go 45-36 at home and play good baseball to try and get the home fans back on your side. Right now it’s a shit show for attendance and fan support. Use Matt Wallner’s last minor league option and let him either figure it out at AAA or cut him. He’s had his chance and now you have E-Rod crushing balls at AAA.

Good to see the bats produce again. Homerun from Clemens and Buxton for the Twins and Raleigh from the Mariners. Prilliep looked good in his first MLB win. Andrew Morris worked in long relief and he also looked solid.

Holy boring. Not ashamed to say I fell asleep for innings 5 through 8. Score was close, but just trailing the whole game again. I’m not sure the Twins led at one point this whole series.

Taj just couldn’t limit the long ball against his former team. 4 homeruns is always going to get you the loss for the day. Brooks Lee continues to hit well going 3/4 with a homerun and Royce Lewis also homered. Caminero goes deep twice for the Rays along with Aranda.

Games at Tropicana always have a “boring” feel to them. The stadium is just so dull. But it didn’t help the Twins looked terrible. Ober didn’t even pitch that bad either we just couldn’t get anything going offensively. The 1 run was a garbage time RBI single from Royce Lewis in the 9th too. Regroup a try and not get swept tomorrow by a mid Rays team.

Felt bad for the Mets so decided to give them this one after our admin cooked them last night after their 12th loss in a row. Felt good giving to the needy tonight.

This was an exciting game to watch. From the disaster start from Scott on the mound with 6 early walks to Ryan getting beat up throughout his whole start. The Twins continued to put pressure on the Mets and it paid with a game tying grand slam in the top of the 8th from Ryan Jeffers. Only to give it right back on a bases clearing triple from Bichette. Twins had the typing run in Buxton on 2nd, so basically any hit ties the game, and couldn’t muster up one more hit. Fun game to watch. Devin Williams might have needed heavy security leaving the stadium if he blew that save.
