Great game all around. From a neutral perspective, England really has the tools to make a deep run in the tournament, they just need to be secure against counter attacks. They play an extremely aggressive press (haram ball), and are prone to getting caught out, which Croatia was able to exploit. Once again, Harry Kane is the best striker in the world right now.

DENIZ UNDAV MEIN HELD. If he doesn’t start next game we boycott this, he played phenomenally. The German House of Soccer was THE PLACE TO BE today, another amazing watch party. Sane should sit next game out, and hopefully Nico is ok. Not the ideal way to get there, but a good result. WE’RE INTO THE KNOCKOUTS. I can’t go to Ecuador v Germany at MetLife, but I will be watching again here. With a bit more composure, and a ref who doesn’t take the other team’s flopping and time wasting, THE DEEP RUN IS HERE.

Ref had ZERO control over this game, he was swayed by arguments and struggled to hold his own calls. NZ came into the second half with not even half of the their first half energy which led to their downfall. Congrats to Egypt for their first ever World Cup win.

Absolutely abhorrent officiating. Another referee that is actively being swayed by players on the pitch, scared to show cards, and not standing their ground. MacAllister commits a foul to win the ball which Messi eventually scores and is not called. 5 minutes later Austria does the same thing and it is called. At this point even the commentators and pundits are stepping in. Zlatan and Peter Schmeichel both called it out and something needs to be don’t about these first-time-world cup refs who are not at this level.

Very disappointing from England. Kane and co. unable to take advantage of any chances. Bellingham with the MOTM even acknowledged that he didn’t deserve it saying that it should’ve gone to a “defender that held the game.” Great for Ghana but a very important game against Croatia on Saturday.

Very poor from Czechia as we have seen the whole tournament. It’s looking like Czechia and Turkyie are the disappointments of the tournament. NO attack, NO conviction, NO hunger to win. They looked complacent the whole group stage, and deserve their positions last in their groups.

Holy shit this was a hard watch. I’m VERY glad I had USA v Turkyie on my laptop cause this was a snooze fest. Neither team was capable of finishing any chance. Both teams had multiple grade-A chances in their opponents box, and the best they could muster is a weak shot towards the keeper. Blasphemous football.

What a finish for Turkyie; even after being eliminated by the Australia v Paraguay match’s 0-0 conclusion in this game’s 90th minute, Turkyie still mustered a final goal in this game to take the victory. For a team that hadn’t scored until today, this Turkyie team looked like a completely new squad compared to their previous two matches. Disappointing they couldn’t reach is form earlier in the group stage. USA moves on to the easiest path to the quarter finals.

OH MY GOD BEST EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE. I get to MetLife 3 hours before KO. Fan zone is ELECTRIC with the England fans. We join a couple chants at the bar, get our flag, whole time, ITS POURING RAIN. 45 minutes before kickoff, we go to take a photo by the pitch in the lowest level, the staff lets us because it’s so early, we just stay there and hope there are open seats. (Originally I had seats in the top row of the stadium). KO rolls around; NO ONE TAKES OUR SEATS. We are 3 rows from the bottom, basically pitch side. PLAYERS WALK OUT 10 FEET FROM ME!!!!! WE HAVE 2 ENGLAND GOALS ON OUR SIDE SECOND HALF. After the match, Tuchel is walking for and interview. I call to him in German. HE WAVES AT ME?!?!?!!. We walk out of “our” seats. The concession stand lady gives me a free pretzel and apple strudel. We end up inside the group of England Ultras, screaming chants for the next hour. By the time we finally leave, we have a bag of free shit, and an experience I’ll never forget. I LOVE FOOTBAL

TWO footballing Giants eliminated today. Zlatan said it best: “The Dutch did not lose with their identity”. They did not play as the Dutch team should, they missed chances, and of course the penalties. But, even moreso, props to Morocco for this performance.
