“Imagine telling people back in October that these 2 teams would be competing for the top of the Atlantic division. I bet most wouldn’t believe you. Luckily it makes for good hockey… mostly. The first 2 periods were great. You have 2 excellent teams going at each other and getting plenty of good chances. Tampa usually prioritizes the best shots rather than quantity and it was working for them. Sabres are somewhere in the middle of that philosophy but the point stands, they got their good chances. The real story of this game was low-key acquisitions looking like steals. Alex Tuch has been such a lowkey acquisition for them since the Eichel trade but he’s finally on a good team and I’m so happy for him. Raddysh and Guentzel couldn’t make it too easy for the Sabres as all both of them were demons on the ice. Raddysh in particular is adding to his breakout season alongside JJ Moser. Josh Doan continues is also an absolute steal and he set up Norris for Buffalo’s 2nd goal and Zucker won it. ”
