@FlameRaptorRaven's rating of Avalanche vs Penguins

@FlameRaptorRaven rated the Avalanche vs Penguins game 3.9 out of 10 in NHL on March 24, 2026. Final score: Avalanche 6 – Penguins 2. Reg. Season. Fan ratings and discussion on RateGame.

Crosby and Mackinnon’s first matchup of the regular season. Better late than never. Sadly, this one didn’t live up to the hype, especially at the start. Despite the score after the 1st period, I wouldn’t say the Avs dominated the Penguins. I’d actually say play between these teams was pretty close with it maybe leaning slightly in Colorado’s favour. The difference was Colorado’s passing picked Pittsburgh apart and created much better chances which is why it was 4-1 after 1 period. This trend never truly went away. The Avs gave up great chances to Pittsburgh and either Wedgewood would make a great save or the Penguins would just miss it. Except for when Brazeau’s goal was called back due to goaltender interference. The quality of play was still really good, I just wish it had been closer for longer so all the great chances could’ve meant more. Could’ve been worse, but the disappointment factor is real and I’m stuck wishing this game had lived up to its potential and been way better.
