Man it feels like 2026 is cursed to have no true no-hitters. The Jays had this game from the very start when Okamoto hit that grand slam. The Jays only piled on and made it so the Giants never had a chance. Instead, Dylan Cease became the main attraction. He was absolutely electric on the mound, baffling Giants hitters and making an easy win super comfortable for the Jays batters. As the game went on, the prospect of a no hitter remained on the table. The Jays haven’t had a true no-hitter since Dave Stieb, after that 8th inning, it felt like Cease was on his way to cement himself in Blue Jays lore. Even better, John Schneider didn’t pull him, giving him a real chance. Then Cease immediately gave up a hit to Ramos, got pulled and the Jays closed it out. That was San Francisco’s only hit, it’s like they only cared about breaking up the no-hitter. I gotta put this in the green because Cease was incredible and actually got a chance at his no-hitter, can’t give it any higher.
