“This is now my 2nd rating that I have written while on a plane and once again, I could’ve easily told you who was gonna win before I took off. Except this time, I actually got to see most of it before that point. While not as much of as blowout as it looks on paper, the Sabres earned the dub, though Florida tried their damndest to prevent it. Mostly thanks to the efforts is Josh Doan and Alex Lyon. Lyon, who I wanted the Flames to sign as a backup to Wolf, looked great against the admittedly depleted, but still strong Florida forward core. While Josh Doan pots 2 goals past Bobrovsky to secure the Sabres first shutout of the season. Feels weird to see a Doan do well and it not be for the Coyotes. I’m starting to wish I had Craig Conroy on speed dial.”
