“While I appreciate and admire what Mexico has accomplished, I did not enjoy this game. As a matter of fact, I probably would’ve gotten more enjoyment out of watching the game cast on my phone. The first half was a bore. Czechia seemingly forgot their tournament life was on the line while Mexico was revelling in the festivities. The second half seemed like more of the same at first, but thankfully Mexico broke the deadlock when Chávez scored the first goal with a well-placed shot. Quiñones doubled the lead shortly after for good measure and it allowed to Mexico parry even harder. We even got a cameo from Memo Ochoa. Although I personally wish he started, I’m very happy he got into a game, the guy is a legend, let him have his moment in his home nation, he earned it. He did his things but I wish we got a signature moment from him. The fact that my favourite moment was a cameo is not a good sign. Czechia’s tournament ends here; a disappointing run considering their crazy run to qualify. ”
