“The magic of home runs: who cares if you hit the ball so few times if you hit it over the fence each time. It’s how a team can get less hits and no walks and still find a way to score 4 times the runs of their opponent. Ohtani was great as he always is, too bad the Dodgers could only drive him in once out of the 3 times he got on-base. Still, it looked like that would be enough, at first. Sheehan was pitching a good game… until he started giving up the homers. Rookie Tommy Troy got a great sentimental moment with the first home run of his career to tie the game up in the 6th. Then, in the very next inning, Nolan Arenado snuck a home run just barely over the wall, to give Arizona the lead. The Dodgers pulled Sheehan after that. Do you think that stopped the home runs? Well, it didn’t. Ketel Marte hit a 2-run home run to add some insurance to make their lead insurmountable. Despite LA’s undeniable talent, Ohtani was the only guy getting anything past the 4th. Them’s the breaks.”
