“It just feels so nice when Jacob DeGrom gets the start. Not only do you get to revel in his comeback story from injury, not only are you watching one of the best pitchers of his generation and a future hall of famer, but you also have the comfort of knowing he’s going to make the other lineup look silly. He did exactly that tonight. The Cubs looked helpless, no-one more than Suzuki when DeGrom became the 2nd fastest pitcher to reach 1900 Ks. The Rangers are such a confusing, yet simple team. We so clearly have great pitching carrying our team, led by DeGrom and Latz and a lineup that struggles more often than not to generate anything, let alone runs. At first they seem simple, but this is also the same team that will become the Kryptonite for really good teams out of nowhere. Happy Evan Carter got a homer, hopefully that helps him bounce back. Josh Jung has looked fantastic recently, you just cannot get that out. If the rest of the lineup could just figure it out, we could be good.”
