“Kris Jenkins lived out the dream of every kid who has ever touched a basketball. Prior to that moment, this was an all-time great game. Both UNC and Villanova came in white-hot with dominant tournament performances, especially in the Final Four, when both won their respective games by 15+ points. It was a clash of titans. All that hype leading into it set high expectations, and they were somehow exceeded. This game was a battle throughout, with both teams fighting tooth and nail to win this game. What you might not remember is Villanova took a 10-point lead with 5 minutes to go. The Tar Heels still found a way to claw back into it, culminating with Marcus Paige's insane double-clutch 3-pointer to send this legendary game into overtime. At least, that's what we thought would happen. In the final seconds: Jenkins shoots a 3 right before the final buzzer blares. After a second of anticipation, the shot goes in, cannons go off and everyone knows he hit the greatest shot in NCAA history.”
