“Michigan walks away with a win despite facing their first slice of adversity mostly thanks to a Herculean effort from Labaron Philon. The first half started fast, slowed to a crawl briefly and then ramped up once again. Bama has relied on their 3-point shooting and it looked like it would blast them to victory tonight. They were lights out, shooting nearly 50% in the early goings, only seeing it drop near the end of the half. It gave them a 2-point lead over Michigan’s interior game. If Bama could keep up their hot shooting while making life hard for Michigan’s giant Mara, they could win this game. They could not. To make matters worse, Michigan’s pace began to rattle the Crimson Tide. Close to the mid-point in the 2nd half, the Wolverines went on an 8-0 lead and went up 13. It would be inaccurate to call the last 10 minutes garbage time, but it certainly felt like Michigan had it in the bag as well we got closer to the final 5 minutes. Lendeborg, who Bama nearly recruited, saw to that”
