“Not as much of barn burner nor as close as the score would make you think. The game was 5-4 for 3 seconds. Still a pretty good game. This also acts as a great reminder of how much the Flames have fleeced the Devils in recent years. You know who the Devils could really use? Kevin Bahl, we got him in the Jacob Markstrom trade. Markstrom really struggled tonight, it’d be a lie to call him the biggest problem but he let in a couple stinkers. You know who else the Devils could use? Yegor Sharangovich. Sharky managed to score 1 himself in this game. After the most underrated Selke candidate Mikael Backlund made the game 5-2, the Flames held on for dear life in the 3rd, letting New Jersey get chance after chance and Wolf was asked to save our ass. The stats won’t be kind of him, but we don’t win without Wolf’s efforts in the final period. The real star was John Beecher as he had easily his best game of his Flames tenure with 2 goals, including 1 shorthanded and another off a Gridin feed.”
