“This game was kind of weird, but I can’d get it out of my head that the Padres should’ve won this by way more. After taking bits and pieces from George Kirby, they finally exploded at the right time. As if they had a 6th sense that their starter was going to fall apart in the 6th. Of all people, Lucas Giolito got the start in this game and looked pretty good. Ironically, he gave up more runs than hits, but only allowing 1 hit is always a good thing. Just cut out the part when he is unable to throw a strike repeatedly for a whole inning and he could be a decent starter for the Padres. That brief meltdown was the not reason Seattle made any ground in this game and by then it was already a 7-run deficit. Watched this right before the Cavs-Pistons game and assumed I’d be too invested in that game to watch this one. I was wrong, but I wouldn’t have missed much even if I had been right. Gavin Sheets was excellent at the plate, drove in half of San Diego’s runs and scored 2 of them himself. ”
