“Great game for the Mammoth to get their first ever playoff win as a franchise. These super busy and exhausting days are really testing my consistency. But I power through for y’all. So this rating is from the perspective of someone who tried to take notes while watching and passed out right as the final horn sounded. At first, it looked like a repeat of game 1, with the Mammoth looking outmatched and inexperienced and it led to a goal for Stone. That all changed when former Flame Mackenzie Weegar scored to tie it up. That goal got all the nerves out of the Mammoth and they started to control play. They carried that momentum into the 3rd where Vegas looked outclassed which allowed Utah to take the lead. I wouldn’t have rated this game so high if Vegas rolled over and died. I literally wrote “Torts has them ready” as my final note when Barbashev tied it up. Torts is nothing if he is not a motivator and Vegas found the will to respond, just not enough to overcome Cooley’s game winner.”
