The Leafs of all teams end the Avalanche’s 17-game home winning streak. I understand if Quebecers don’t like the Avs playing in the Nordiques jerseys, but they are TOO CLEAN to keep locked away. Extra point just for the jerseys. Fortunately, we also got a kick-ass game. Brent Burns may want to forget this one considering he basically gave Toronto the first goal by putting it in his own net. The Avs, clearly feeling bad, almost immediately responded with a Makar goal (he’s so good dude) and a Brock Nelson blast less than 2 minutes later. The Avs had all the momentum, I certainly thought they would run away with this one. Instead, the Leafs remained resilient. McMann took advantage on a miscommunication during a face off and scored on a breakaway. Matthews whipped home the 3rd goal, only for the Avs to tie it 2 minutes later. Even then, the Leafs kept up that theme of resilience, holding off the pressure in the 3rd, barely avoiding disaster in OT and then beating Miner low in that OT.
