Tampa and Utah are the two hottest teams this month; they collided here. This game came in phases. In the 1st, those phases were short and came in many different ways. Sometimes it was an Utah rush chance that turned into a Tampa rush chance. The Lightning would hang on to the puck, get a few chances, then Utah would take it and get a few of their own. It was great. In the 2nd, Utah’s phase got A LOT longer. The Mammoth were really applying pressure on Tampa, using their speed and skill to get chance after chance, especially when Utah was on the powerplay. Vasilevsky held strong and it only took 1 powerplay for the Lightning to strike first. Raddysh’s exasperated fist pump reaction said it all, nobody had an easy time scoring. Utah’s phases went back to normal in the 3rd and the Lightning’s last phase was the last 5 minutes, killing any hope of a comeback. Vasi was a brick wall. Fun fact: Utah have not scored a goal on Vasilevsky since they moved from Arizona. Vasi kept that stat alive
