Not quite a "Nobody Saw It Coming" but still a good upset pick by yours truly. After a short start by Daniel Lynch the Royals bullpen needed to do some heavy lifting and they did. With Seth Lugo tomorrow, a guy who is able to pitch a very long outing, the Royals can certainly afford to go deep into the bullpen in this game and they did. Josh Rojas with a huge pinch hit 2-run single and then a 2 run homer, maybe the most random source of runs possible for the Royals but absolutely huge. While winning games here is too little, too late for the Royals that have seemed promising before the season each of the past 2 years, any win makes a fan's day better.

Really sloppy game today. Discouraging to see them play this way at home after a great road trip. The Royals are bad and we’re getting dominated. I asked 11 games ago for 9-3 in the next 12 against 4 lousy teams. 8-3 now. Gotta have it tomorrow. Cannot get swept and throw away all that momentum that was built up. Thankfully we have Messick tomorrow to help get us back on track to close out August.
