“If this series was going to be a sweep, I’m glad we ended on a high note with easily the best game of the series. Carolina looked like their typical dominant selves, but Philly showed a ton of fight and grit as they managed to send this game to overtime, only for the Hurricanes to score there and end the series. Each period really told a different story. The first period spoke to how Philadelphia needed to play in order to stand a chance. Jump on Carolina early and make sure they couldn’t play the way they wanted to. Then the 2nd showed why Carolina was losing this series. The Hurricanes had their way and just peppered them into oblivion to the point that Philly was way over-seasoned. The 3rd showed off Philly’s resilience. Right when it looked like they were finished and Stankoven had the series winner, they found a way to tie it up. Finally, overtime was the killer blow, Vladar just barely couldn’t get enough to make a save in overtime and Carolina sealed the series. ”
