I have never seen a more Leafs-esque regular season loss in my life. They’re coming off their best win of the season against Colorado. They’ve finally returned to form, no losses in regulation for almost a month. Now is the time when they finally show their true talent on the ice and prove all the haters wrong. So of course they got completely schooled and dominated in Utah. To be fair to them, it didn’t start that way. Sure, Utah outshot the Leafs 2:1 but they only scored 1 goal. It was the 2nd period when it all fell apart. Dylan Guenther scored 2 goals in about a minute and the Leafs lost any semblance of momentum they might’ve had before that. Treliving-favourite Calle Jarnkrok tried to salvage the game in the 3rd and it worked for about 7 minutes before Utah took over and made this a definitive blowout. Didn’t even need an empty netter. I lowkey kinda respect the Mammoth for their efforts, plus they’re super fun to watch so this blowout gets a small boost. Still not a great watch.
