This game was already good through 2 and a half periods, but the last 10 minutes of regulation AND OT really ratcheted up the tension. It was a Michigan showcase all night long. Fantili’s homecoming to the city he won the Hobey Baker award in and Zack Werenski was everywhere. Cam Talbot and Jet Greaves were making crazy saves and it looked like Columbus. But 1 blast from Moritz Seider right after a scrappy goal from Chiarot tied it up, don’t think it ended there. The last 5 minutes were heart stopping hockey where both sides tried desperately to take the lead for good. Neither could which brought us overtime. In OT, Detroit was running ragged until Debrincat’s well placed shot barely squeezed past Greaves for the win. Just an awesome game to watch and one where neither team truly deserved to lose, but 1 had to. Well-played from both sides.
