“Dogshit game. Cody Ponce starts the season with a 3.86 ERA in 2.1 innings, which included a tumbling balk and a fielding injury where he had to be carted away. That sucked most of the life out of the game, but just in case there were any survivors left, Brendon Little was brought in to finish them off. I’m sure he’s a very nice guy but he makes me wish I was a fan of an entirely different sport. The offense can catch some heat, too. With the exception of a second inning Springer Dinger, they were ice cold until long after it stopped mattering. Homers from Gimé, Kaz, and Davis were fun. Barger better start hitting the ball before he’s back to couch-surfing in Buffalo. Unreliable relievers and a barely-there offense – it’s the first half of 2025 all over again. ”
