7 year old me was still a couple years away from watching any European soccer so all i've had is highlights. it feels almost impossible watching and seeing chelsea down 2-0 at HT with seemingly no real chances created for them to score 4 in the 2nd half. just a fantastic game that I wish I could've watched live

As difficult as it has been to get into football (soccer) as an American who's only experience with the sport was playing it as a youth, the one thing that pulls me into it is the raucous crowd, chanting in religious fervor as their warriors compete for glory. You feel every moment not just from the excellent kicks and desperate saves, but the roar of the people. Liverpool had to fight from the bottom of a cliff to succeed here, and that they were able to claw their way up twice before being kicked back down was as impressive as it was devastating, but the attack of Chelsea proved definitive in the end. A glorious ability to hold their ground.

I don't watch soccer, but apparently I'm a Liverpool fan, at least that's what I've been told. I really don't know. But I thought this was the playoffs, how the hell do they tie? And oh shit I'm just now realizing this game is from 2009, but I guess this was a historic game or something? And apparently Chelsea won this game with some sort of aggregate thing, no idea how that works. Someone please explain I'm so lost 😭 i think its just rigged to make Liverpool lose because why did Chelsea win 7-5 by tying 4-4?
