“Bow your heads in prayer with me. Lord God my father who is in heaven. Thank you for baseball and thank you for the royals and what they mean to me and the rest of the fans. But God I come to you today to ask you to take the team in your hands. Guide them, show them love and support. They’ve been riding the struggle bus across the country and it’s time for them to let the father take the wheel. God if it is your will please bring the Royals success. Allow others to shine and lift up Bobby Witt Jr so he doesn’t have to carry us every game. Let some of Jac’s 100 mph line outs become hits, teach Vinnie how to hit again, and bless Salvy with the knowledge that the strike zone doesn’t magically teleport to the other batters box when he’s up to bat. Keep our pitchers trajectory straight and true as you have already blessed them with success. God I have trusted you with everything else in my life. It’s time to trust you with my team.
