In a game where Justin Verlander pitched 7 shutout innings while only allowing 5 baserunners, the best pitcher was Brandon Pfaadt and it wasn’t even close. 9 innings of shutout ball while only allowing 2 baserunners. This should’ve been a legendary complete game shutout in Diamondbacks lore and yet somehow they turned it into a 5-1 loss in extras. While I wish this game had been closer in extras, as a man who enjoys brilliant pitching, I can’t give this a rating below the green threshold.
