“The Marlins win streak is over. This one stings a little bit. They had many opportunities to score and didn’t. They had runners on first and second in the top of the eighth with none out and the next three batters all struck out, failing to even put a ball in play. In the top of the ninth, they had a runner on second with none out and failed to even get the runner to third. And the winning run by the Pirates stings too. Anthony Bender got two outs in the bottom of the eighth. Then he gave up back to back singles, followed by a walk to load the bases. There was a mound visit, with the first pitch following hitting Spencer Horwitz to drive in the go ahead and winning run. Unfortunate and painful. The Marlins aim for the series win tomorrow to get back to .500.”
