“Surprisingly fun and entertaining. This game had a ton of hype as the battle between Haaland and Mbappé. Sadly, that hype mostly evaporated when news came out that Norway was rotating basically their entire squad, including Haaland. It turned a clash of the titans that would decide the group of death’s winner into a forgone conclusion. Even though that was the case and killed much of my excitement going into it, expectations were lowered. With low expectations, comes an unlikely chance to disappointment. So watching Ousmane Dembele score one of the earliest hat tricks in World Cup history was cool to see. Mbappé did start fortunately and sent a gorgeous pass for Dembele’s first goal and Ousmane had 2 precise finishes for the other ones. On top of French beauty, Norway didn’t quit, they scored shortly after the 2nd French goal and could’ve made it 3-2 if not for Maignan stopping an admittedly bad penalty from Strand Larsen. Doué added the cherry on top, but the 2nd half was uneventful. ”
