One-sided on the ice even if it wasn’t on the scoreboard, bonus points because these teams are so fun to watch. In a rare instance, the Blue Jackets actually played a complete superior performance. The Blue Jackets treated this like a civil war re-enactment. Although we all knew who was gonna win this one, they had to keep it interesting or else why bother? Mikael Pytthia fired the first shot from his musket while cutting through the Mammoth defense. For the drama, Jack McBain fired a shot right back with a deflected shot. Sergachev then put the Blue Jackets on edge by sniping a goal himself early in the 2nd. After nearly a full period, a scramble in front of Vanecek tied it back up thanks to Charlie Coyle. The 3rd period was all Columbus and the refs had to remind the Mammoth who is supposed to win this re-enactment by calling a penalty in the dying seconds. The Blue Jackets carried that to OT and won it on the power play. About a 4/10 re-enactment, but a 7/10 game.
