In stark contrast to the shootout that ended just a few hours ago, this was more of a grind. Cam Little goes against his name and breaks a big NFL record by setting the new longest field goal record with a 68 yarder. Fortunately, after a slow first half, business picked up in the 2nd half and really ramped up in the 4th quarter. This shifted from a defensive battle to just a tightly contested game in general. Geno Smith did everything in his power to not throw to a receiver, making the most out of his tight ends and Ashton Jeanty while Devin White made Al Davis proud when he punched a Jaguar and got a bunch of tackles. As for the Jags themselves, Trevor Lawrence didn’t have a great game throwing the ball (missed a bunch of opportunities), but he made an impact running, not only getting a TD but escaping pressure and avoiding disaster in that final drive. Fortunately, the other Jags picked up his arm-slack, especially in overtime. In that OT, let’s just say, Al Davis is disappointed.
