Watching the first 2 periods made me think the Capitals have officially shaken off the rust. They were all over Vegas early and often. Pierre Luc Dubois had the 27th 3-point game of his career and just the 4th one he has had in Washington. Chychrun was also all over Vegas and even got a goal for his efforts while feeding Ovi in his office repeatedly. Unfortunately, the Golden Knights are back on their 3rd period BS. It should be no surprise they lead the NHL in 3rd period goals. Even when Washington had the powerplay, Vegas kept the puck in their offensive zone and Logan Thompson had to save Washington from blowing their lead. Mitch Marner was really good in this one, in that 3rd period I thought he was the biggest threat on the Knights despite not getting a goal for his efforts. I was low-key rooting for Ras to get a goal and he tried his best to no avail. For once, the Golden Knights did not send it to overtime and get their pity point. Overall, just a pretty good game.
