The Leafs have clearly developed some kind of personality disorder because they go from playing great against an elite team, to awful, to great against another elite team and then they forgot how to do that in the 3rd. Nylander leaving the game before the 2nd period hurt, still, the Leafs maintained control prior to the 3rd. The key for them tonight was great net-front presence which generated most of their goals, The screens and battles in front of the net were really throwing off Hill on rush chances. Still, don’t think Hill wasn’t in a zone, just ask Bobby McMann, he’ll tell you Hill was ready after getting stopped on a low scorpion save. Leafs were so close to leaving this game, nevertheless, they found a way to choke a 2 goal lead in 10 minutes, even after they got a Vegas goal turned back on a challenge. Marner got some revenge for his efforts and Eichel was sensational throughout.
