SO CLOSE to an upset with an unfortunate ending for the pirates. Seton Hall did a good job pushing UCONN around in the early game. They took very few 3s, but made more than they missed while remaining good enough on 2s to not only keep up, but build a lead over the Huskies in the 1st half. Even when the 2nd half hit the 10 minute mark, Seton Hall still managed to keep their lead and add a couple points to it. Unfortunately this is when it all fell apart. The Huskies got white hot from 3, led by Karaban who went 5/6 from deep. It only took a 10-0 run that involved a bunch of Pirates bricks to turn an inevitable upset to a ‘better late than never’ result. Seton Hall didn’t go down quietly and kept pace down the stretch; which is when UCONN’s defense came in clutch, in part thanks to a couple of blocks from Karaban to make sure Seton Hall couldn’t get their lead back. It’s a shame, I had a ton of faith and AJ had a nice game. Just couldn’t close it out.
