“The year is 2026. The Dodgers have, in many people's eyes, ruined baseball. They've spent nearly as much money as possible to build the greatest super team in baseball history. They've won back to back World Series. On the other hand, the Chicago White Sox have been 101-223 during that time frame. In two years, they had less wins combined than losses in either year. But with the power of friendship, and behind three 6th inning home runs from Chase Meidroth, Sam Antonacci, and Colson Montgomery, they managed to win the series against the Dodgers. This series is a perfect representation of the parity that baseball brings. No series is decided on paper. No matchup is decided on a computer. Each pitch on a baseball field is like a snowflake. No two events on a baseball field are the same. And that, my friends, is why baseball is the best sport on Planet Earth.”
