It’s nice to see the Predators succeed. They’ve been through *a lot* the last couple years. It didn’t look like they’d get that reprieve at first. Ovechkin started this game with a signature blast from the face off circle for goal #916. Fellow old man 600-goal scorer Steven Stamkos with his own blast for 601 in his future Hall of Fame career. After the 1st period, it was no longer the legendary goal scorer show, it became Roman Josi’s time to shine. The man is just so good and I cannot believe he is 35. After playing a miraculous 2nd period, he got even better in the 3rd. Setting up Cole Smith’s goal with a smooth lay-off and then blasting home his own goal for Nashville’s 3rd. That was just in the first 3 minutes of the 3rd. Josi kept being great, but the Caps didn’t make it too easy. Frank cut Nashville’s lead to 1 and then the Predators hung on for dear life. Annunen had to make 1 last big save on Ovechkin to close it out in regulation. Josi is such a joy to watch.
