“I came into this game with a simple question. Which state will win? Michigan or North Dakota? Sadly, North Dakota did not save their best for last. Michigan State run away with this game immediately. I’d say the Carson Cooper dunk at 6 minutes is when they began running away with it. After that, it was a total formality for the Spartans. They took a 20-point lead into halftime and used it to allow them to coast in the 2nd half. Michigan State outplayed North Dakota State in every way. They shot better, grabbed more boards, accumulated more assists, even got quadruple the blocks the Bison had. Unfortunately, that meant the 2nd half was mostly dull. This was more a low-key game for Fears, but he did a great job deferring to his teammates and it was thanks to that effort that Carson Cooper had a wonderful day. Cam Ward, not the former Hurricanes goalie, nor the Titans QB, came off the bench and put up a productive 13 points. Good work all-around for Michigan State, bad showing by NDSU.”
