Naturally, it was a goal-fest. Both countries had their fair share of momentum and chances, but Sweden had the better chances as well as a slight majority. Elanga got the party started with a blast to make it 1-0 in favour of the Swedes. Poland wasn’t going to give in easily. They know this is likely Polish legend Lewandowski’s final chance to make an impact on the World Cup stage. Zalewski managed to tie it up thanks to a beautiful curling shot and made sure Sweden remain on their toes. A similar sequence happened between halftime. Sweden scored before halftime and Poland matched them shortly after the 2nd half begun. Instead of Lewandowski getting one last chance on the World’s grandest stage, it was Gyokeres putting himself into World Cup lore. In a wild sequence, he scored the winner and Sweden has made it back!”
