“Considering what ended up happening to the winner in their next game, there is now a tragic aspect of this result. Overall, this was a game sullied by a bad second half, but the first was pretty good and there have certainly been worse games both this season and in the tournament. The first half was defined by tough scrappy defense and tough-shot making. Neither team was interested in giving up an inch on defense and pretty much every shot became tough because of it. For two schools that rarely make it to the NCAA tournament, let alone win a game (or never win in the case of the Panthers), I would expect nothing less. The shift that happened in the back half of the 2nd half. Things got all-around harder for Lehigh while Prairie View found their groove and used it to pull away and get their first NCAA tournament win in school history. It’s unfortunate what happened in the very next game, but I hope they look back on this dub fondly.”
