This was a slow, physical and tight game where one player dictated the result: Mikael Backlund. That man needs to be in Selke conversations. Not saying he should win it, but his season needs to be talked about more. Hopefully the 2nd goal will get people talking. Stealing the puck in the neutral zone on a Blackhawks powerplay and deking Spencer Knight out of his pads should do the trick. LOTS of tension and not the Heated Rivalry kind sadly. Farabee-Murphy fought after a collision and I give the edge to Murphy. Shortly after, Bahl absolutely unleashed on Moore which made Donato tackle Bahl and throw a couple haymakers. Besides laying a brutal hit, Bahl was terrific with his stick, shutting down multiple rush chances, including one from Connor Bedard himself. Cooley was almost casual in-goal, literally popping the puck up just to bat it away at one point. Clearly his signature nihilist mindset did him good tonight because he showed no signs of wavering. We are set between the pipes.
