“Stuart Skinner gets first win as a Penguin! And he genuinely played a good game today in a completely one-sided affair. Once Crosby broke the ice with a goal, Carolina completely fell apart. After that, it was goal after goal with Skinner stone walking the infrequent Hurricanes chances. I can only imagine the angry rant Rod the Bod went on during the intermissions. Ironically enough, the Canes scored the last goal of the game, but they couldn’t ever make it close. Besides Skinner having his first great game as a Penguin, Kulak also had a good day. Mainly on the defensive end but he also pitched in an assist just for fun. Brazeau continued his heater, Mantha scores a couple nice ones and pretty much everyone else on the Pens played well. Unfortunately, that also means this game was basically decided after the 1st period and the Canes never grabbed any significant momentum. Even when they scored to cut the lead to 4, absolutely nothing. ”
