“I don’t think we’re supposed to have eleven nail-biting innings just two games into the season! Gausman: [gets 11 SO’s] Cease: hold my kombucha Hell of a debut for Cease. He feels like a natural fit for this squad and I can’t wait to see more from him. Not loving the sluggishness from the top half of the order. We did this slow start/late start stuff last year and it was awful. We need the “big” boys to wake up. But hey, while those guys are sleeping, you’ve got Giménez tearing it up, Varsho delivering, clutch Kirky, and fan-favorite Ernie Clement finally securing the win. A big part of last year’s success was the 6-9 batters, and that looks to continue this year. Brendon Little. I feel bad because I know he worked hard this off-season, and he did look decent this spring. I just … I don’t know. It’s hard to not lose faith when you see him show up. ”
