Surprisingly, this game was pretty action-packed for the first couple periods, even without the goals. It wasn’t until the 3rd when we got the true Flames experience and they could barely generate anything while relying on Wolf to bail them out. For all the flaws with this current Flames squad and even though I have a personal list of things Calgary needs to do, I can take solace in the fact we have Dustin Wolf. If only we could actually score. To be fair to both the Flames and Kings, it wasn’t just our total lack of firepower. The Kings’ defense was very impressive and Anton Forsberg was very steady with enough controlled chaos to stop every shot that came his way. Brandt Clarke had one amazing play where he cut off a wrap around from Adams Klapka completely which I adored. Speaking of great defensive plays, Zayne Parekh was super impressive in that regard, constantly disrupting LA’s flow. Still, the Flames clearly ran out of gas in the. On the plus side, no penalties in this one.
