“In the wise words of UNC’s head coach Hubert Davis: “Sometimes the ball doesn’t go in”. I hope Alex Pribble says something along the lines of “The ball often doesn’t go in against Houston”. Houston have begun their march for redemption in March after losing in last year’s final. The good news is their stifling defense that got them so close to glory last season is still here. Idaho was just the unfortunate victim. It’s near impossible to win any game when you can’t shoot above 30% and score less than 50 points. Kolton Mitchell was the only Vandal who had a decent night offensively, let alone a good one. The Cougars just harassed the ever living hell out of every Vandal regardless if they had the ball or not. Flemings led the way offensively, but that was a team effort; just like their defense. Wasn’t like they were getting a ton of blocks or shooting super well, they just generally overwhelmed the Vandals. Like I said before, it happens to a lot of teams. The ball just didn’t go in.”
