“This looked like another shoddy game with Adrian Houser getting the Webb treatment of bad defense turning to a nightmare start. But then it turned into the kind of game you envisioned with the Tony Vitello hire. Just a week ago a 5-1 deficit might have seem insurmountable even against a weak pitching staff, but this is not the offense from a week ago. A big thing to watch is that Jung Hoo Lee is starting to hit as advertised again, never mind the whole offense is following suit. Devers continues to be a rough watch, but his hit (against a LHP) couldn’t have come at a better time! He’s been due for so long that it feels like the dam could break soon. Just has to time the fastball a little better. Ryan Walker cannot continue to be the closer. I think Winn could be closing in the future.”
