“USA truly is a “Vegemite Free Zone”. USA becomes the 2nd team to clinch a spot in the knockouts and they do it in mostly comfortable fashion. I say mostly because Australia managed to keep them on their toes for a stretch in the 2nd half. They didn’t manage to do that at any other point. Even without the “LeBron James of Soccer”, USA carried over their efficient attack from the Paraguay game. It was putting Australia on their heels until a costly error led to an own goal in favour of the USA. They can thank Balogun for that who was wreaking absolute havoc down under. Meanwhile, Australia left their own dynamic attacker, Irankunda, on the bench for whatever reason. The Americans kept applying pressure until Freeman doubled the USA’s lead with a header, albeit one that was only given after VAR reviewed it, not the best way to enjoy your first World Cup goal. Australia made some changes and looked more threatening, but they could never recover from the beating they took in the 1st half. ”
