Normally I’d say the Senators sadly lost a close one, but I’ve got 0 sympathy after what Ridley Greig did to Lucas Raymond. Bitch move. Instead of being a game where one team unfortunately had to lose, it was a small piece of righteous justice for Detroit. Side note: How does Ottawa keep being involved in between the legs goals? Stutzle scored one in their game yesterday and today, JVR scores a top-shelf between the legs goal on the Senators’ heads. JVR’s flashy display of skill offsets Greig’s shenanigans as well as Soderblom’s retaliation. On the bright side, we got some good back and forth hockey in this game, the Sens tied it up in the final minute to send this game to overtime and Debrincat won it with a sweet wrister. Seeing James Reimer in 2026 was surprising, but I thought he had a pretty good game despite all the goals he let in, there was nothing egregious besides the Raymond snipe that fooled him. Speaking of Raymond, his good performance is probability why Greig got pissed.
